Madhinee Valeyatheepillay is a PhD candidate at the Ifo Centre for International Institutional Comparisons and Migration Research and Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich since October 2016 and will be visiting UCFS from January to March 2020.

Prior to receiving her Master’s degrees in Development Economics at the University of Göttingen and in International Financial Economics at the University of Warwick in the UK, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Warwick.

Her research interests include migration, labour and development economics. The overarching objective of her project is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the effects of neighborhood dynamics, through refugee placement policy, on migration responses and integration outcomes.
